Sanlam marks its 20th anniversary as a listed company on 30 November – a huge milestone in its history. The acquisition of SAHAM Finances – the biggest transaction in Sanlam’s history – makes us the largest, most diversified non-banking financial services player in Africa.
Sanlam has announced a package of economic empowerment transactions, subject to shareholder approval, in a bid to strengthen its SA operations and position the company for growth over time. As a result of this major B-BBEE transaction, Sanlam will be a Level 1 contributor, raising direct black ownership above 18% and black economic ownership (combined direct and indirect) above 35%.
