To patch or not to patch

Posted on October 11th, 2018 |

If you’re still confused about what to do when you receive a message informing you of a patch installation process to your desktop or laptop, here’s what it means and why it’s necessary.

Patch installation refers to critical security updates applied to your machine to protect it against a security threat. The patch helps safeguard our information assets by making it more difficult for hackers to exploit any system vulnerabilities. This reduces the risk of the Group suffering reputational and financial damage.

The process takes place monthly and you’ll receive clear instructions, which we ask you to follow when you receive them. By doing so, you’ll be helping to mitigate the impact of cyber risk on our environment.
