One week to go until SCTM – Africa’s gold marathon

Posted on September 13th, 2018 |

The Sanlam Marathon Cape Town (SCTM) festival of running takes place next week 22–23 September. Driven by our belief in the African continent and commitment to becoming the leading pan-African financial services, the event is set to host elite athletes from Sanlam-branded countries in Africa – the ‘home’ of global distance running.

Bring your gees

The SCTM team is encouraging supporters from across the country and the continent to be part of Africa’s only IAAF Gold Label marathon. Dress up, get your banners and vuvuzelas ready, and you, your family or friends could be among the lucky winners of exciting prizes to the value of R150 000.

Supporters who bring the gees stand the chance to win R50 000, R30 000 and R20 000 cash prizes:

  1. Show us your gees. Dress up, make a sign, make a noise.
  2. Share your gees. WhatsApp a photo, video or voice note along with your name to 078 649 7006. Post on social media using #SCTMgees.
  3. Bring your gees. We’ll also be giving away cash prizes on race day. A ‘gees squad’ on motorbikes will hand out cash prizes worth up to R50 000 to the best supporters along the marathon route. Hotspot areas will be Rondebosch Common and the Fan Walk.

Even if you, your family or friends are unable to attend the event, you can still get involved by taking part in the #SCTMgees competition.

The competition ends 23 September.
